Resumo: | In this work, we present a project to construct a tide gauge based on an ultrasonic rangefinder controlled by an Arduino Uno board. The project is easy to build and of low cost and aims to make feasible the study of the phenomenon of ocean tides, integrating research activities and experimental practice. The tidal phenomenon is an excellent opportunity for the study of Isaac Newton's universal gravitation and the study of the orbital motion of the Earth – Moon – Sun system, of which it is a direct result. In this article, we focus on the experimental set up and preliminary results. We reserve for a next article suggestions of applications in well-defined investigative events involving the Newtonian model for the tidal phenomenon. |
