Resumo: Inspired by the call pointing out that “the certainties seem to have been put in check” and “by the certainty that science education needs to consider contemporary issues in its daily practice of research and teaching” we settled out to think that terms such as reality, certainty, truth need to be put within a perspective that considers the inherent complexity of the processes humanity development, constant transformation and that these terms are not the result of an isolated mind, but produced within concrete historical moments. Therefore, our objective is to bring contributions to the debate around the truth in Science Education. For this, we will use two examples that deal with disputes over two entries in the Wikipedia open encyclopedia, in order to illustrate a way from which the truth can be conceived, in a very problematic way. Although they are not specifically about typical teaching situations, from our point of view these examples are quite illuminating and allow us to extrapolate the analysis and bring reflections to Science Education.
