Archivistical práxis in the scientific police of the state of Paraíba: an experience report in the archive of the Core of Medicine and Legal Dentistry (Numol) of João Pessoa

Resumo: The objective of this work was to present an experience report carried out in the archives of the Núcleo de Medicina e Odontologia (NUMOL), in Joao Pessoa, state of Paraíba. Methodologically, it is an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative study, as it identifies, through data collection in the NUMOL file, information about its operation and its peculiarities. The intention is to report how the practices occurred in this information unit and expose the problems identified, making use of proposals to mitigate the difficulties. The work was only made possible with the support of the employees of that sector and the direction of the Scientific Police Institute (IPC) of Paraíba. The NUMOL file needs improvements in several aspects, both organizationally and structurally. With that, we propose some extensions, taking into account the context of your file. The suggestions for improvement presented are in line with the reality that we identified in that information unit.

En Brasil, esta realidad involucra negligencia y los archivos son utilizados como depósitos. Así, observamos problemas relacionados a las actividades archivísticas del Centro de Medicina y Odontología (NUMOL), en João Pessoa - Paraíba, que permean el sesgo funcional y estructural. El objetivo de este informe fue analizar el archivo del NUMOL entre los años de 2017-2022. Metodológicamente, es un estudio de carácter exploratorio, descriptivo y cualitativo. Utilizamos el método observacional para registrar y describir las actividades del sector, entrevistando al archivero para comprender cómo funciona el trabajo archivístico, captando sus gaps y, consecuentemente, sugiriendo mejoras. El archivo de NUMOL necesita reparaciones en diversos aspectos, en el sesgo organizativo y estructural. Con eso, proponemos algunas ampliaciones, considerando el contexto de la institución y los parámetros archivísticos. Conscientes de que las propuestas presentadas no resuelven los problemas de archivo, al menos mitigarían el tema de la preservación, del almacenaje, de la interconexión entre los archivos y la recuperación de información. Nuestra expectativa es de que estas reflexiones sirvan de puntapié inicial y lleven a los gestores a pensar sobre las políticas archivísticas en la institución.Armazenar documentos deveria ser uma tarefa que demandasse das instituições o maior empenho possível. No Brasil, essa realidade comporta descasos e os arquivos são utilizados como depósitos. Assim, observamos problemas relacionados às atividades arquivísticas no Núcleo de Medicina e Odontologia (NUMOL), em João Pessoa - Paraíba, os quais perpassam o viés funcional e estrutural. O objetivo deste relato foi analisar o arquivo do NUMOL entre os anos de 2017-2022. Metodologicamente, é um estudo de caráter exploratório, descritivo e qualitativo. Utilizamos do método observacional para registrar e descrever as atividades desse setor, entrevistando o arquivista da instituição para compreender como funcionava o trabalho arquivístico, percebendo seus gaps e, consequentemente, sugestionando melhorias. O arquivo do NUMOL necessita de reparos em diversos aspectos, tanto no viés organizacional, quanto no estrutural. Com isso, propomos algumas ampliações, levando em consideração o contexto da instituição e dos parâmetros arquivísticos. Conscientes de que as propostas apresentadas não resolvem os problemas do arquivo, ao menos mitigariam a questão da preservação, do acondicionamento do acervo, da interligação entre os arquivos e da recuperação da informação.
