Resumo: The article proposes a study of São Paulo State Public Archives’ contribution for the historiographical production of postgraduate programs in History of São Paulo universities. For this, it analyzes thesis and dissertations from 2006 to 2015 available in the search catalogs of those educational institutions in order to assess the relevance São Paulo State Public Archives’ permanent collection had to researches completed during this period and also to reflect critically on the course taken by São Paulo State Public Archives. The result of the analysis points to a noticeable downward trend in the use of permanent documentation of the institution by Masters and Doctoral degree students in History postgraduate programs analyzed.

Para isso, analisa as teses e dissertações de 2006 a 2015 disponíveis nos catálogos de busca das referidas instituições de ensino com vistas a auferir a relevância que seu acervo permanente teve para as pesquisas concluídas nesse período e refletir criticamente sobre os rumos seguidos pelo Arquivo.
