Resumo: This report is a reflection of the experience in treating rare and special works of Library Board of the Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, with the aim of preserving these rich documents as historical source, literary, educational, anyway, all areas of knowledge who want to work them. A group of historians, biblioteconomistas, literati and educators reflect on the experience in dealing with special and rare works, considered cultural heritage and revealing that interdisciplinarity allows dialogue between professionals and the construction of the teaching and learning process.
