Analysis of scientific production on evaluation of documents theme available in the BRAPCI basis

This paper aims to present the available scientific production in the BRAPCI basis, regarding the document evaluation subject, from 1972 to 2016, through a bibliometric analysis. The population is composed by 11 articles. The most cited authors in the articles analyzed were Couture, Bellotto and Jardim, and the most cited works were “Arquivos permanentes: tratamento documental” and “Archivística general: teoría y práctica”.  In addition, we identify that books represent 63% of the typology most used by the researchers, followed by the articles, 13%. We also noted that in the articles analyzed about the subject, most of them have a notion and approach wider and more related to a mentioned item of documental management, that is to say, they did not adopt archival evaluation as an unique and specific object of their studies. We conclude that, at the national level, the subject approached receives little attention from the archival community works on this context are still incipient. In this way, we perceive the need to carry out and develop research and discussions, aiming to contribute, instigate reflections and increase scientific production regarding the theme proposed here, due to its significance, relevance and pertinence to the Archival Science area.
