This exchange presents aspects and perceptions obtained through the academic exchange held in the first semester of 2018 at the Universidad de Playa Ancha – in Valparaiso, Chile. Exchange carried out through the Associación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM) that provides agreements between universities six Latin American countries. Chile has the best results in educational indexes throughout Latin America, however, the study of Archival and Archival Science occurs only at the level of specialization and qualification, and there are no professionals trained (by the universities of the country), specifically in this area. The archivist profession is occupied by professionals trained in Bibliotecología, a niche market that seeks and needs qualified people to fill the vacancies. In the course of the text, Chilean education, the student movements, experiences during the exchange, the University, the Bibliotecología course, the disciplines studied, the archives and the Library of the Universidad de Playa Ancha are discussed.
