The webs and the glories: the IHGSC e ACL archives under a prosopographic perspective

Historical and Geographical Institute of Santa Catarina and Catarinense Academy of Letters in the sense of thinking them as evidences of both the networks of sociability that underlie it and of a process of archiving that is also the promoter of the construction of certain representations about its holders. The documents in these folders guarded indicate, to a certain extent, the existence of relationship and activities patterns between some of the men members of both institutions. In this sense, the prosopographic method comes on the scene, indicating that the individual paths of these characters when thought together and in relation to the gathering of clues present in these personal folders, point to the attempt to perpetuate a positive memory of these men, their accomplishments, their innumerable productions, your diplomas and your awards. The myriad of documents found in these archives therefore seems to create a narrative almost absent of conflicts and contradictions and, in this way, forges for these characters an idealized image that both institutions that harbor these sorces and those who have carried out this archiving, wish to leave to the posterity.
