The memory issues and the United Nations Organization: the application of archiving science and diplomatic principles in digital documents

Memory is a subject that has been studying in several aspects, mainly of them in the prism of Information Science. Among the various types of memory that can be observed, both institutional memory and organizational memory have been gaining prominence, one due to its social characteristic and the other for be a new administrative management strategy. In this sense, the documents produced by the entities, responsible for transmitting their memory, need specialized treatment so that the new technological advances do not end up making these documents of memory unusable. For this reason, the use of archival principles and diplomatic in the memory documents produced by the entity can be a way of managing and optimizing this memory. Among the various entities that have great social influence, the United Nations is one of the most important, since it has objectives that concern all nations overcoming ethnic, religious, and territorial issues. In this sense the present work has as general objective to discuss about the memory in the archival documents made available by the entities and as specific objectives to define if there is any separation between organizational memory and institutional memory, to verify if the diplomatic and the archival principles can be applied in the processing of memory documents, ascertaining the pertinent issues regarding access and retrieval of archival memory documentation, analyzing documents made available by the UN in its virtual website according to the study criteria, whether they are archival memory documents, what kind of memory is it and if they are capable of receiving archival treatment, both by diplomatic and classical archival principles. Thus, through the exploratory research of secondary data, using the method of bibliographic and documental research, use of inductive method, and qualitative results analysis, the present study of relations between memory and UN has relevance not only in the academic area, but also in the society. With the use of several authors from different Sciences, in an interdisciplinary approach, it will try to describe this relationship.
