Resumo: Documentary heritage is one of the categories of cultural heritage, but it is a transversal category when related to others, and this is evident when dealing with fixation, through documentary records of intangible heritage both archival or museum as bibliographical. This article is based on activities developed in CNFCP / IPHAN in partnership with UNESCO that had the purpose of studying and proposing the organization of the Archival fonds of the Program “Promotion of the Crafts of Cultural Tradition”(PromoArt) in the project " Diffusion and Extension of the Safeguard Policy for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage "of the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN).
