In the last part of the second volume of Temps et récit, Ricœur ask if it is possible to find at À la recherche du temps perdu a fable about the time. According to Bernet, in La vie du sujet, this is possible if we put Proust in the equation of time and involuntary memory, like a random overlap of similar impressions, which contrasts with the “voluntary memory” emphasized, according to him, by the thoughts of Husserl in the Lessons of the Internal Consciousness of Time. We believe that the opposition he poses between À la recherche... and the Lessons... does not make justice neither to these works nor their authors. Thus, we propose a new way of interpretation inspired in Ricœur’s reflections on Proust and Husserl which take place in Time and Narrative.
