Resumo: The objective of this paper is to analyze the affiliation between memory and mimesis, based on the theories of Paul Ricoeur and Luiz Costa Lima. What was retained in memory, by the necessity to identify oneself with this past, is changed, in order to relate with the values that one has in the present. There is, therefore, an attempt, even if unconscious, of erasing their fractures in pursuit of a homogenous identity.
