Resumo: This aphorismatic essay presents some general theses about the concept of philosophy, understood in its generality through the adjective ‘mestizo’ and in critical contrast with the idea and myth of pure philosophy. Such theses are accompanied by some of the arguments in their defense, as well as some of their metaphilosophical assumptions and consequences. On the one hand, based on these theses, I seek to make a comprehensive and plural characterization of the possibilities for the current philosophy-making and in the context of the Brazilian philosophical community. On the other hand, based on the same theses, I present a genealogy and a critique of what I call the ‘phantasm of pure philosophy’. This conceptual metaphor indicates the pathological way through which the idea and myth of pure philosophy still dominate the Imaginary of the Brazilian philosophical community, limiting and distorting the possibilities for its philosophy-making. This genealogy and criticism are carried out by diagnosing three false dilemmas generated by the phantasm of pure philosophy, pointing out some means to overcome them and enhance our philosophy-making under the sign of the concept of mestizo philosophy.

Tais teses são acompanhadas por alguns dos argumentos em sua defesa, bem como por alguns de seus pressupostos e consequências metafilosóficos. De um lado, a partir dessas teses, procuro fazer uma caracterização abrangente e plural das possibilidades para fazer filosófico no mundo atual e no contexto da comunidade filosófica brasileira. De outro, a partir dessas mesmas teses, apresento uma genealogia e uma crítica do que denomino ‘fantasma da filosofia pura’. Essa metáfora conceitual indica a forma patológica pela qual a ideia e o mito da filosofia pura ainda dominam o imaginário da comunidade filosófica brasileira, limitando e distorcendo as possibilidades para o seu fazer filosófico.
