BIOMIMETICS, COMPLEX GEOMETRY AND PARAMETRIC MODELING: A STRUCTURE OF KNOWLEDGE FOR ARCHITECTURE

Resumo: | This article is linked to the AMPARA Research Project, from FAUrb/UFPel, which deals with the construction of didactic references for the adoption of parametric modeling techniques and digital fabrication of complex architectural surfaces through the study of the use of such geometries in professional practice. In a previous work, the approaches of Biomimicry and parametric modeling were identified as potentiating the exploration of such geometries. In the same study, based on a didactic theory and its structured notion of knowledge, a systematization of such concepts was made. This work presents a proposal to explain the knowledge involvedin the generation of complex geometries in nature and in their parametric modeling. As a result, such knowledge is structured in visual schemes - conceptual maps - that are linked to a network of concepts that aims to integrate such knowledge with the approaches of Tectonic and Stereotomic architecture, presented to students of Architecture and Urbanism in the design studio in the initial years of training. |

Em trabalho anterior, foram identificadas as abordagens da Biomimética e da modelagem paramétrica como potencializadoras à exploração de tais geometrias. No mesmo estudo, a partir de uma teoria didática e sua noção estruturada do saber, foi feita uma sistematização de tais conceitos. Neste trabalho se apresenta uma proposta de explicitação do saber envolvido na geração de geometrias complexas da natureza e na modelagem paramétrica destas.
