Resumo: Over the past few years, the connection between art and science has gained greater prominence in terms of its contribution to the teaching and dissemination of natural sciences. In the interim, this manuscript creates a dialogue between scientific thought and the work “Coro d'Osun: chimera of intermittent rivers” by artist Davi ngelo, leading to a Foucaultian discussion about the possibilities that this relationship can generate for the field of education sciences, with a focus on the biological ones. Through a hermeneutic analysis, Coro d'Osun is described and analyzed, followed by an exposition along the lines of an essay, with suggestions for approaching the material in basic education, in which colors of a counter-hegemonic education are painted that prioritize other knowledge, such as those present in the be enchanted. The mermaid, a mythical creature materialized in the work, brings the fantastic together with anthropomorphic aspects, slipping between art-science and enhancing a transition to a polychromy of biological knowledge.
