Identity conflicts in the west of Bahia: symbolic construction of colonial imaginary in contemporary

Resumo: The countless transformations that took place in Western Bahia, provided by the introduction of modern agriculture and the formation of social dichotomies in part of the agricultural space, was the initial stimulus that led to the development of this work. In this study, the colonization derived from southern migration in the 1970s and 1980s is externalized with the symbolic construction of the colonial imaginary in contemporary times, exposing several fronts of social mobility and different migratory processes that processes of segregation and prejudice for this territory. The main objective is to establish a relevant discussion about how this imaginary was built, how the advertising of the place as a space of opportunities was built and recorded in history from different sources, reports in interviews, letters and official documents in the construction. negative image of the northeastern in contrast to the ideas of pioneering in the lands of the cerrado.

Neste estudo, externa-se a colonização derivada da migração sulista nas décadas de 1970 e 1980 com a construção simbólica do imaginário colonial na contemporaneidade, expondo diversas frentes de mobilidade social e processos migratórios diferenciados, promovendo processos de segregação e preconceito no território.
