Resumo: The objective of the following paper is, using Carlo Ginzburg's historical method, to analyze, in Ernesto Araújo's globalist thinking, his concept of western civilization and to trace which are the traditions of thought that influence such concept. To this end, we discuss the relationship between the modern national state and the figure of the heroic knight in 19th century European culture. The study of Ernesto Araújo's thinking in this paper is divided into two parts, the first involving biographical data and his literary production before his approach to globalist thinking and the second after the chancellor became adept to such ideas. The work is divided into the following sections: 1. Microhistorical analysis and the indicative method of Carlo Ginzburg, 2.The globalist vagueness and the history of the West of Olavo de Carvalho, 3.Conservatives and knights, 4.Orientalism and the heroes of imperial nation-state, 5. Ernesto Araújo's Orientalism and 6. The Brazilian ex-chancellor's globalism.

O globalismo do ex-chanceler brasileiro.Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina2021-09-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/emtese/article/view/7787610.5007/1806-5023.2021.e77876Em Tese; v. 18 n. 2 (2021): Dossiê: Nova Direita no Brasil: Matrizes teóricas, intelectuais e discursivas; 87-1181806-5023reponame:Em Tese (Florianópolis)instname:Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)instacron:UFSCporhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/emtese/article/view/77876/47349http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessFernandez Vaz, Alexandre Garcia, Gabriel2021-09-29T17:48:24Zoai:periodicos.ufsc.br:article/77876Revistahttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/emtese/PUBhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/emtese/oaiportaldeperiodicos.bu@contato.ufsc.br||revistaemtese@gmail.com1806-50231806-5023opendoar:2021-09-29T17:48:24Em Tese (Florianópolis) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)false
