Resumo: | The following paper aims to examine the way the Workers’ Party (Partido dos Trabalhadores) rhetorically managed the Market in 2002/2003, a crucial moment of their history, when they succeeded for the first time in a presidential election in Brazil. Throughout the 36 years of the political trajectory under examination (1980-2016), the party has developed, became more professional, being successful in elections of many spheres in the country – in cities, states, and the federal government. Highlighting the hypothesis that throughout 2002 and the beginning of 2003 the party has balanced electoral capital and political temperance, it is intended to test it by going over the Carta ao Povo Brasileiro and the Inaugural Address of the former Ministry of Finance Antonio Palocci. |

Antônio Palocci and the pendulum of the workers' party: between the politics and the marketAntônio Palocci e o pêndulo do Partido dos Trabalhadores: entre a política e o mercadoThe following paper aims to examine the way the Workers’ Party (Partido dos Trabalhadores) rhetorically managed the Market in 2002/2003, a crucial moment of their history, when they succeeded for the first time in a presidential election in Brazil.
