Resumo: This article deals with the financial difficulties of Portuguese ambassadors in Rome during the Portuguese Restoration. The objective is to show how the capital of Portuguese traders could assist the Portuguese diplomatic expedient, while the overseas markets were also able to financially support the Portuguese Restoration, not only the financing of the war itself but also the financing of this diplomatic expedient. To this end, it will use an extensive bibliography on the financial condition of Portugal, as well as epistolary documentation that shows the different demands of Portuguese diplomatic agents in Rome.
