Resumo: | During 1976, contacts between political groups from different countries in Latin America and Europe began to establish a common language provided by the Socialist International organization. The socialdemocratic organization turned to the Latin American continent while the profusion of dictatorships led the opposition forces to seek international connections as a form of action. Sectors of the Brazilian oppositions sought international connections as a form of political intervention and found in the work of the government of Portugal that emerged from the developments of the Carnation Revolution the means to give transnational contours to its initiatives with the aim of reorganizing the political parties. Through research in media outlets from both countries, as well as documents that show the concern of dictatorship agents with the process, it is possible to explore the perspective of the connectivity of negotiations and flows of ideas and political representations that crossed over national borders. This resulted in a leading internationalism that, bypassing governments, intended to influence the political openness in Brazil. |

Internationalism and the Brazilian redemocratization: the leading transactions of the Socialist International and the connections between Brazil and Portugal in 1976Internacionalismo e redemocratização brasileira: as transações de cúpula da internacional socialista e as conexões entre Brasil e Portugal em 1976During 1976, contacts between political groups from different countries in Latin America and Europe began to establish a common language provided by the Socialist International organization. The socialdemocratic organization turned to the Latin American continent while the profusion of dictatorships led the opposition forces to seek international connections as a form of action.
