Resumo: In this article. I seeks to Express the possibility of some different angles for visualizing a penal institution, specifically the Pedra Grande Penitentiary, a simbol of modernism for the elite and administrators of these times, that was completed thanks to the power of techinical know-how. These are, however, only the first steps to somenthing that is just beginng, because in the second part of my research, I set out to discover a little more about the suffocated and oppressed daily life in Pedra Grande.
