Resumo: The purpose of this paper is to examine the crisis of Soviet system,and the strategies developed by Gorbachev government to redirect Sovieteconomy and policy in order to solve the main problems that affected theUSSR during the 1980s. In addition, it will be scrutinized the obstacles foundby Gorbachev to promote the restructurings that Soviet Union required, andthe expansion of the crisis that culminated in the dissolution of the USSR.
