Resumo: | This article proposes a historiographical dialogue based on the historical and cultural connections between Brazil and the African continent, emphasizing the centrality of the experience of workers who had mineralogical knowledge for the history of gold mining. The aim is to analyse how African metallurgists helped or resisted colonial mining projects, shaped scientific practices and offered creative insights into metalworking. Finally, we intend to examine the impacts of gold exploitation of Minas Gerais in the Kingdom of Angola, where the Portuguese also invested in prospecting for gold. |
