Resumo: The work presented here seeks to make a survey of cultural goods related to the Seahorse and the municipalities of Ferreiros e Condado located in the Zona da Mata Norte in Pernambuco. Sea Horse is the name given to the popular pastime that is characterized as a theater, including music, dance and poetry, represented by about seventy characters, which are present for about eight hours. The story is told by the tunes and carols (spoken verse) so poetic, the dialogue leading the plot through the figures. His quirks, flaws and blemishes refer to the victims of real characters, representing a major catharsis. Every plot shows the relationship between two basic extracts of sugarcane society: the slaves - currently rural workers - and the landlords - now mill owners and politicians. Throughout the play, the participants exchange of characters, changing only a piece of clothing or a mask. The fundamental object of this research is to investigate the cultural practices present in the merriment and political disputes by it  represented.

O objeto fundamental dessa pesquisa é investigar as práticas culturais presentes no folguedo e as disputas políticas aí representadas.Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina2011-12-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/esbocos/article/view/2175-7976.2011v18n26p13810.5007/2175-7976.2011v18n26p138Esboços: histories in global contexts; Vol. 18 No. 26 (2011): Dossiê Patrimônio e Memória; 138-152Esboços: historias en contextos globales; Vol. 18 Núm. 26 (2011): Dossiê Patrimônio e Memória; 138-152Esboços: histórias em contextos globais; v. 18 n. 26 (2011): Dossiê Patrimônio e Memória; 138-1522175-79761414-722Xreponame:Esboços (Online)instname:Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)instacron:UFSCporhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/esbocos/article/view/2175-7976.2011v18n26p138/22252Copyright (c) 2019 Maria Ângela de Faria Grilloinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGrillo, Maria Ângela de Faria2019-03-01T10:08:24Zoai:periodicos.ufsc.br:article/21843Revistahttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/esbocos/indexPUBhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/esbocos/oaiportaldeperiodicos.bu@contato.ufsc.br||esbocos@contato.ufsc.br||2175-79761414-722Xopendoar:2019-03-01T10:08:24Esboços (Online) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)false
