Genetic Criticism and documents obtained from Instagram: case study from the profile of the artist Ana Elisa Egreja

Resumo: | Brazilian artists have often used their digital social networks to share records of their own creative processes in addition to images of their works. Since Genetic Criticism investigates works of art from their genesis through documents which were generated during and after the creative processes, the present article discusses the possibility of the Genetic criticism using images and texts publicly shared by the artists themselves on profiles on the social network Instagram, approaching them as documents that can be considered within the methodologies that are specific to Genetic Criticism - understanding from the studies of Cecília Salles - analyzed based on the Phenomenology along with General Semiotics of Charles S. Peirce - as reviewed by Lucia Santaella. Considerations are given regarding the Instagram profile of 20 contemporary Brazilian painters as well as the more in-depth case study of the painter Ana Elisa Egreja´s profile, from which the role of photography in the creative process of the painting Banheiro rosa com polvos has been investigated. |

Considerations are given regarding the Instagram profile of 20 contemporary Brazilian painters as well as the more in-depth case study of the painter Ana Elisa Egreja´s profile, from which the role of photography in the creative process of the painting Banheiro rosa com polvos has been investigated.Artistas brasileiros têm usado suas redes sociais digitais para compartilhar, além de imagens de seus trabalhos, muitas vezes, também, registros dos respectivos processos criativos. Posto que a Crítica Genética investiga as obras de arte a partir de sua gênese, através de documentos gerados durante e após seus processos criativos, o presente artigo aborda a possibilidade do crítico genético valer-se de imagens e textos compartilhados publicamente pelos próprios artistas em seus perfis na rede social Instagram, tratando-os como documentos passíveis de serem considerados dentro de metodologias próprias da Crítica Genética - entendida a partir dos estudos de Cecília Salles - e analisados com base na Fenomenologia e na Semiótica Geral de Charles S. Peirce - conforme revista por Lucia Santaella. Apresentam-se considerações sobre o perfil de Instagram de 20 pintores contemporâneos brasileiros e o estudo de caso mais aprofundado do perfil da pintora Ana Elisa Egreja, a partir do qual investiga-se o papel da fotografia no processo criativo da pintura Banheiro rosa com polvos.
