Resumo: | This essay explores Brazilian digital author Wilton Azevedo’s work Atame: a angústia do precário in view of its multiple versions – as live performance, interactive DVD, and video-poem – and the possible implications of these different modes of operating. At the same time, I attempt to read the work as marked by the character’s bodily fragmentation in a post breakup scenario, in which her dilacerated body becomes materially present to us by means of how we navigate through the work. What we have is thus a double articulation in which the multiple versions of the work and the character’s attempt to reconstitute a lost body are presented as invariably frustrated by a tension between human and machine which ties the character’s and the work’s final mode of being. |

Atame: performing the dismantled mechanical bodyAtame: performar o corpo maquínico despedaçadoThis essay explores Brazilian digital author Wilton Azevedo’s work Atame: a angústia do precário in view of its multiple versions – as live performance, interactive DVD, and video-poem – and the possible implications of these different modes of operating. Center for Research in Computing, Literature, and Linguistics (NuPILL)2018-12-21info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/textodigital/article/view/1807-9288.2018v14n2p3710.5007/1807-9288.2018v14n2p37Texto Digital; Vol. 14 No. 2 (2018); 37-54Texto Digital; Vol. 14 No 2 (2018); 37-54Texto Digital; v. 14 n. 2 (2018); 37-541807-9288reponame:Texto digitalinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)instacron:UFSCporhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/textodigital/article/view/1807-9288.2018v14n2p37/38176Copyright (c) 2018 Otávio Guimarães Tavaresinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessTavares, Otávio Guimarães2019-01-18T10:41:08Zoai:periodicos.ufsc.br:article/60102Revistahttp://www.periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/textodigitalPUBhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/textodigital/oaitextodigital@cce.ufsc.br1807-92881807-9288opendoar:2019-01-18T10:41:08Texto digital - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)false |
