Study of lexical items belonging to the fauna on the linguistic atlases of alagoas and pernambuco: in search of convergences

Resumo: This article analyzes the denominations related to lexical items belonging to fauna in linguistic atlases constructed in northeastern states, considering the most relevant variants in these states. Thus, we chose to compare the data of this semantic field in the Linguistic Atlas of the State of Alagoas (DOIRON, 2017) and in the Linguistic Atlas of Pernambuco (SÁ, 2016) with lexicographic works and texts in order to assist in the identification of motivational categories for lexical variation in Pernambuco and Alagoas to perceive convergences and divergences between them. The analysis showed the existence of variants for joão-de-barro, gambá and libélula that represent specific marks of both states, added to what had been observed in other parts of the Northeast and extrapolating their borders. It is therefore necessary to consider the regionalist meanings derived from the speakers’ culture and beliefs, from which values characteristic of their mother tongue are transmitted, conserved and developed.

Desse modo, escolheu-se cotejar os dados do referido campo semântico no Atlas Linguístico do Estado de Alagoas (DOIRON, 2017) e no Atlas Linguístico de Pernambuco (SÁ, 2016) com obras lexicográficas e textos a fim de auxiliar na identificação de categorias motivacionais para a variação lexical nos falares pernambucano e alagoano, de modo a perceber convergências e divergências entre eles. A análise permitiu constatar a existência de variantes para joão-de-barro, gambá e libélula que representam marcas específicas dos falares dos dois estados, somadas ao que fora observado em outras partes do Nordeste e extrapolando as suas fronteiras.
