Findability and Information Architecture: possible theoretical relationships

Objective: In view of the interaction of the human being with digital information environments, studies regarding the ability of these environments to provide navigation corresponding to the subject's ease in finding information becomes necessary. It aims to investigate how studies on Findability have established theoretical relationships with Information Architecture. Methods: It uses the Quadripolar Method as a tool, with a qualitative approach through content analysis. At the epistemological pole, he discusses the socio-cognitive paradigm. In the theoretical pole, it discusses the relationship between Information Architecture and Findability. In the technical pole, it uses content analysis to support categorizations and cores of meaning among the publications found on the Portal de Periódicos Capes in the 2016-2011 quadrennium. At the morphological pole, it highlights the possible theoretical relationships between these studies at this time in scientific history and culture. Results: Through content analysis, it establishes classes and thematic categories to the core of senses found between Findability and Information Architecture, observed in the scientific production of the four-year period from 2016 to 2019. Conclusions: According to the quadrennium period from 2016 to 2019, reflecting this moment in scientific history and culture, Information Architecture has a preponderance over Findability, in the sense of providing systemic elements to analog, digital or hybrid information environments.
