http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1518-2924.2017v22n49p42This article aims to describe the vision of Journal Editors about the process of editorial management of Brazilian journals. Supported by a quantitative approach to survey all 570 Brazilian journals publishers listed in the list Qualis CAPES from 2009 to 2011, having returned 87 were sent The instrument consisted of two blocks of questions : Editor profile and elements associated with the practice of management journals . Among the key findings include the following: most publishers are bachelors of Directors, actively participate in scientific events and have a strong connection to the Graduate Programs. The difficulties are linked to evaluative act, and a large number of activities of the Editor . Most respondents (80 %) had not exercised editorial management activity earlier, and 41 % have adopted the strategy of associating events with the scientific practice of fast-track .
