Resumo: The aim of this study was to establish possible relations between the results obtained by sports institutions in swimming and public investment involved in this process. Since there many factors needed for sporting success, the focus will be only on financial support. The methodology was through by desk research and quantitative analysis that’s was done to see how the allocation of resources invested by the Federal Government to the youth swimming in 2013, trying to establish relations with the performance of sports institutions in the Brazilian Youth Swimming Rankings. The results show that the institutions that had more results are also those who had more athletes awarded the “Bolsa-Atleta” allowance, while the allocation of funds obtained through the Sports Incentive Law does not show a clear relationship with the previous performance of institutions.

Una vez que hay muchos factores necesarios para el éxito deportivo, la atención se centrará sólo en el apoyo financiero. La metodología si dio a través de la investigación documental y el análisis cuantitativa, para comprobar cómo fue hecho la asignación de los recursos invertidos por el Gobierno Federal para la natación de base en 2013, tratando de establecer relaciones con el desempeño de las instituciones deportivas en el ranking brasileño de natación de base. Los resultados muestran que las instituciones más exitosas son también los que tenían más atletas galardonados con el “Bolsa-Atleta”, mientras que la asignación de los fondos obtenidos por la Ley de Incentivo el Deporte no muestra una clara relación con el rendimiento anterior de las instituciones.O objetivo deste estudo foi estabelecer possíveis relações entre os resultados obtidos por instituições esportivas na natação competitiva e os investimentos públicos federais envolvidos neste processo. Uma vez que são muitos os fatores necessários para o sucesso esportivo, o foco será apenas sobre o apoio financeiro. A metodologia se deu por meio de pesquisa documental e de análise quantitativa, para verificar como foi feita a destinação dos recursos investidos pelo Governo Federal à natação de base no ano de 2013, buscando estabelecer relações com o desempenho das instituições esportivas no ranking brasileiro de natação de base.
