Resumo: The theme of this work is the preparation for reception of the World Cup 2014 in Cuiabá/ MT. This is a study about the preparations for the Capital of Mato Grosso to stagematches of the World Cup Football 2014. The research objectives are: (a) investigatethe process of preparing the city of Cuiabá / MT to hold World Cup matches in 2014and (b) verify and analyze the perceptions of the population cuiabana about the benefitsof the mega event (World Cup) . We use techniques such as: literature review, deskresearch, interviews, photographs, among, others.

Trata-se de um estudo acerca dos preparativos da Capital de Mato Grosso para sediar jogos da Copa do Mundo de Futebol de 2014. Os objetivos da pesquisa são: (a) Investigar o processo de preparação da cidade de Cuiabá/MT para sediar jogo da Copa de 2014 e (b) Verificar e analisar as percepções da população cuiabana acerca dos benefícios trazidos pelo Megaevento (Copa do Mundo).
