Resumo: What was convencionally called “Study of Gender” in/for Physical Education (Ped)? In which way this category, and starting from this view classified as “Study of Gender” this or that paper? These are of the questions around which we trying to set the foundations for this study, that is basically turning to dimensions of gender that are present in the academic-scientific production coming from Graduate Programs in Education and Physical in Master’s as well as Doctorate’s level produced in the 80’s and 90’s. When we elaborated the research we were very careful as far as the way it would take in the theoretical field, it is extremmelly necessary since this is a domain where imprecise concepts are often what occur. This way, we used several times theoretical methodologic persperctives incompatible among them, where several concepts are considered equivalents without, reality, being.

Essas são algumas das questões, em torno das quais se fundamente este estudo, cujo olhar está voltado para as dimensões de gênero presentes na produção acadêmico-científica oriunda dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Educação e EF, em nível de Mestrado e Doutorado, elaborados nas décadas de 80 e 90. Alguns cuidados, quanto aos rumos que podem tomar as pesquisas neste campo teórico, são necessários, pois esse é um terreno onde as imprecisões conceituais são muito freqüentes.
