Resumo: Corporal Practice of Adventure in Nature (PCAN) has gained visibility and supporters in recent years, the growth of modalities, the wide possibilities of experimentation and greater dissemination have led more and more people to opt for this activity. The objective of this study is to understand the social representations shared by a certain group of people when practicing tree climbing, a category present in the PCAN, for the first time. It can be seen that the vision of the participants changes before and after the experience of tree climbing, while before they had words like: fear and challenge, soon after they had: strength and courage, thus pointing to a paradigm shift.

El objetivo de este estudio es comprender las representaciones sociales compartidas por un determinado grupo de personas al practicar escalada de árboles, categoría presente en el PCAN, por primera vez. Se puede observar que la visión de los participantes cambia antes y después de la experiencia de trepar árboles, mientras antes tenían palabras como: miedo y desafío, poco después tenían: fuerza y ??coraje, apuntando así a un cambio de paradigma.As Práticas Corporais de Aventura na Natureza (PCAN) têm ganhado visibilidade e adeptos nos últimos anos. O crescimento das modalidades, as amplas possibilidades de experimentações e a maior divulgação têm levado cada vez mais as pessoas optarem por essa atividade. O objetivo desse estudo é compreender as representações sociais compartilhadas por determinado grupo de pessoas ao praticar o arvorismo, categoria presente na PCAN.
