Resumo: The beginning of football competition shapes one of the learning environments on youth sports, therefore, the children need to be properly organized to their own characteristics and possibilities. The aim of this theoretical framework is to demonstrate possibilities to the competition initiation, based on the structure, norms and game functionality and reflect concerning the competitive environment. We propose that the organization of the structural and functional elements of the soccer game in early phases should be realized from the understanding of the players' level, mainly regarding the structuring of space, communication in action, and ball-player relationship. The relationships between players, coaches, referees and the family must provide positive interactions, establishing a safe environment for the youth players. Therefore, competition initiation in football must be thought and designed to aid the children' development, setting up a safe learning environment.

El objetivo del ensayo teórico es demostrar las posibilidades para el inicio en la competición, en función de la estructura, las normas y la funcionalidad del juego y reflexionar acerca de la participación en el entorno competitivo. La organización de los elementos estructurales y funcionales del juego de fútbol en las fases iniciales debe realizarse a partir de la comprensión del nivel de los jugadores, principalmente en lo que respecta a la estructuración del espacio, la comunicación en acción y la relación entre jugadores y la pelota. Las relaciones entre jugadores, entrenadores, árbitros y la familia necesitan proporcionar interacciones positivas, estableciendo un entorno seguro para los niños. Por lo tanto, la iniciación de la competencia en el fútbol debe ser pensada y diseñada para ayudar al desarrollo de los niños, creando un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro.A competição na iniciação ao futebol configura um ambiente de aprendizagem, mas necessita ser organizada de forma adequada às características e possibilidades das crianças. O objetivo do ensaio teórico é apresentar possibilidades para a competição na iniciação ao futebol com base na estrutura, normas e funcionalidade do jogo e refletir acerca da participação no ambiente competitivo. A organização dos elementos estruturais e funcionais do jogo de futebol na etapa de iniciação precisa ser realizada a partir da compreensão do nível dos jogadores, na relação com a estruturação do espaço, comunicação na ação e relação com a bola. As relações estabelecidas entre jogadores, treinadores, árbitros e a família deve propiciar interações positivas, estabelecendo um ambiente seguro para as crianças.
