Resumo: The present article presents a description of the reservoirs of the responsible Bragantina Region for the water supply of part of the region metropolitan of São Paulo and the decurrent problems of the illegal occupation of the edges of the reservoirs, fruit of the real estate speculation and omission of the State. It demonstrates the war for the water in the basin of the rivers Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí and points decurrent solutions of the ambient responsibility in search of better quality of life.
