Resumo: The public appeal through communication vehicles for the brazilian population to invest efforts in the constitution of a “new normal” to mark out daily activities during and after the pandemic is notorious. Based on the dialectical method and documentary and bibliographic research, this article presents analyzes and reflections on this issue, considering its contours and consequences for the education of children up to six years old, pointing out expectations about the action of families and teachers in the process of "social isolation". Reflections on child poverty are highlighted, an analytical category that broadens the look at the child and her condition of existence in a capitalist country whose neoliberal policy has narrowed the horizons of rights and led to the exhaustion of the forces of workers and the cruel exploitation of labor, increasing the levels of poverty and miserability and instigating the contradictions and the class struggles.
