Reflextion on the lives of children and women on evicted from the MT Campo Grande camp

Resumo: The article Children and women and us-nothing: reflections from the lives in eviction at the MST camp of Campo Grande aims to deal with one issue: where are women and children living and how are their lives during times of Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil. This is undeniably a broad issue. To incite answers, we based our reflections in the eviction order against the MST camp, Quilombo Campo Grande in Minas Gerais, filed in August 2020. Emblematically, this eviction order invites us to think about countless stories of Brazilian lives in eviction. They are women and children from camps and city outskirts, residents from large urban and rural centers in the country, who urgently need to be contemplated as objects of reflection. The sources are newspapers photographs from August 13th to August 19th of 2020. The presence of women and children was highlighted in scenes that show moments of the eviction, authorized by Minas Gerais state government. Among so many possibilities, we have already started to respond stating the urgency to look deep into the eyes of the tragedy and see these women and children during these times of pandemic and beyond.

Trata-se de uma questão inegavelmente ampla. Para provocar respostas partimos de reflexões sobre a ação de despejo impetrada contra o acampamento do MST, Quilombo Campo Grande em Minas Gerais ocorrida em agosto de 2020. Emblematicamente essa ação de despejo faz pensar sobre inúmeras histórias de vidas brasileiras em despejo. São crianças e mulheres de acampamentos e periféricas, moradoras de grandes centros urbanos e rurais no país que urgem ser contempladas como objeto de reflexão. Como fonte foram usadas fotografias exibidas em jornais ao longo do período de 13 a 19/08/2020. Observou-se a presença de crianças e mulheres em foco evidenciando cenas dos momentos do despejo autorizado pelo governo do estado de Minas Gerais.
