The Portfolio as a learning assessment strategy in early childhood education: considerations on their practice.

Resumo: The use of portfolios is presented as an authentic assessment strategy that has been the subject of interest for researchers and practitioners of education since, in addition to implicate early childhood educator in the documentation and assessment of learning involves the child itself caused gains , eg for the development of metacognitive skills and self-regulation , positive attitudes to learning and to building a positive self-concept. In this sense, the present article, with reference to the Portuguese educational reality , and focusing an emerging theme , aims to highlight the potentials and characteristics of the drafting process portfolios of children in the context of early childhood education in order to support their understanding and use by educators . Are referred to the specific learning assessment and described procedures for a proper construction of portfolios of children.

Are referred to the specific learning assessment and described procedures for a proper construction of portfolios of children.A utilização de portefólios apresenta-se como uma estratégia de avaliação autêntica que tem sido alvo de interesse por investigadores e profissionais de educação já que, para além de implicar o educador de infância na documentação e avaliação das aprendizagens, envolve a própria criança acarretando ganhos, por exemplo, para o desenvolvimento de capacidades metacognitivas e de autorregulação, de atitudes positivas face à aprendizagem e para a construção de um autoconceito positivo. Neste sentido, o presente artigo, tendo como referência a realidade educativa portuguesa, e incidindo numa temática emergente, pretende colocar em evidência as potencialidades e características do processo de elaboração de portefólios de crianças em contexto de educação de infância de modo a apoiar o seu entendimento e uso por parte dos educadores.
