Impacts of covid-19 pandemic on childhood education in São Gonçalo/RJ

Resumo: The aim of this article is to discuss and encourage reflection upon the impacts of the corona virus pandemic in early childhood education for working-class children who live in peripheral urban areas in the city of São Gonçalo, in Rio de Janeiro's Metropolitan Area (RJMA). In face of the pandemic scenery and the imposed social distancing, which resulted in the closing down of day care centers and kindergartens, it is required that the presence of (in)visible small kids in São Gonçalo be debated. From the methodological point of view, we bring doubt as a method (GARCIA, 2009) from questions that are intensified in times of uncertainty and the breakage of ties. We believe that discussing the impacts of the pandemic in the life of small children refers us to the challenge of investigating which potential knowledge, due to the corona virus pandemic, can mobilize reflection and practices that are favorable to the education and care of the kids referred to, raising questions and considerations that can contribute to a better acceptance and education of small children in nursery schools and public pre-schools in the city.

Diante do cenário pandêmico e do isolamento social decretado, que implicou no fechamento de creches e pré-escolas, urge interrogar sobre a presença (in)visível de crianças pequenas em São Gonçalo. Do ponto de vista metodológico, trazemos a dúvida como método (GARCIA, 2009) a partir de questões que se intensificam num tempo de incertezas e rompimento de vínculos.
