Resumo: We affirm a way of researching with children based on the ‘epistemology of listening’ - an investigative attitude that involves listening, attentive to the complex relationships between listening and understanding. We seek to listen to children in other registers, attentive to their singular saying that places the senses installed in ‘state of edge’ and weave inventive encounters at Creche UFF - locus of the present investigation. We narrate the experience of building the vegetable garden at Creche UFF, collectively lived with children from 02 (two) to 06 (six) years and undergraduate students of the Pedagogy Course-UFF. The research focuses on the events experienced by children and the pedagogical processes invented in the construction of Horta da Creche. The results obtained allow us to understand the act of knowing as an intense experience that mobilizes emotions and desires. We affirm the child's spontaneous curiosity as a potentializer of new knowledge through the exercise of ‘epistemological curiosity’ and we advocate a dialogical and democratic early childhood education.

Buscamos ouvir as crianças em outros registros, atentas ao seu dizer singular que coloca os sentidos instalados em ‘estado de borda’ e tecem encontros inventivos na Creche UFF - locus da presente investigação. Narramos a experiência de construção da horta da Creche UFF, coletivamente vivida com crianças de 2 (dois) a 6 (seis) anos e estudantes de graduação do Curso de Pedagogia-UFF. A pesquisa tem como foco os acontecimentos vividos pelas crianças e, os processos pedagógicos inventados na construção da Horta da Creche. Os resultados obtidos nos permitem compreender o ato de conhecer como experiência intensa que mobiliza emoções e desejos. Afirmamos a curiosidade espontânea da criança como potencializadora de novos conhecimentos pelo exercício da ‘curiosidade epistemológica’ e defendemos uma educação infantil dialógica e democrática.
