Resumo: This essay tells of our meeting with the many questions raised by the film "Mother of George" by Andrew Dosunmu, USA, 2013.  We talk here about what happened to us as spectators of the work. We share the way our bodies and looks were crossed by the encounter with this filmic narrative, either to say, the state of aesthetic-political awareness established in us. With this intention, we present traces of this encounter with the characters Adenike and Ayodele, a Nigerian couple who lives in Brooklyn and weaves the lines that involve the (im) possibility of conceiving a baby every day. As restless spectators, we are involved by the life that pulsates in a scenario in which gender, otherness, birth, tradition, matriarchy, suffering, care and family arrangements announce forms of (re)existence to the city and to the grotesque framed by the looks of whiteness. We follow the steps of the characters through the avenues of the city and as we follow their marks we travel between speed, slowness, deterritorialization and events that give outline, movement and outcome to the film.
