“Life is not useful”: dream and lift the sky

Resumo: This review does not intend to only introduce the latest book of indigineous leader, journalist and environmentalist AiltonKrenak, entitled A Vida não é útil (Life is not useful), but also to discuss his thinking, gathered in the latest three books Krenak published. The latest publications, a trilogy, unravels the fiction of the economic model in which our lives are embedded. Within an objective, sensible and ironic language, the author marks his anti colonial, anti capitalistic and intensively critical thinking towards the predatory life model that the high caste that calls itself humanity lives, which he makes strong criticisms. The author exposes, from his traditional ancestral knowledge, his form of connection with the Earth as an intelligent living organism. Also makes considerations about different perceptions of life and death, to indigenous people and non-indigenous people, placing the discussion in the context of the pandemic of the new Coronavirus - Covid19. It approaches the technologies fetish and defends the connection between dreams and everyday life, while defending less development and more involvement. The invitation to read his work is not only due to its critical content in defense of a politic of life but also due to the sensitive aesthetics of its micro-hope realistic worldview.

Sua linguagem objetiva, sensível e irônica são marcas de um pensamento anticolonial, anticapitalista e intensamente crítico do modelo de vida predatório que a alta casta que se autodenomina humanidade vive, a qual ele tece críticas contundentes. O autor expõe, a partir de seus saberes tradicionais ancestrais, sua forma de conexão com a Terra como organismo vivo inteligente. Tece considerações sobre as diferentes percepções de vida e morte, para os indígenas e os não-indígenas, situando essa discussão no contexto da pandemia do novo Coronavirus – Covid19. Aborda o fetiche pelas tecnologias e faz a defesa da conexão ente sonhos e a vida cotidiana, ao mesmo tempo que defende menos desenvolvimento e mais envolvimento. O convite à leitura desta obra dar-se tanto por seu conteúdo crítico de defesa de uma política de vida, mas também, pela estética sensível da sua cosmopolítica realista microesperançosa.
