This article analyzes the indictment of two rural workers, who afterwinning a case in the Labour Court along with other workers were being threatenedwith death by the tenant of the Mill Matapiruma Low, in the municipality of Escada,Pernambuco. In the face of such threats, the worker Luís Inocêncio Barreto, withthe support of the Rural Workers Union, denounced the tenant to the police andmilitary units. But what the documents show is that these are to treat them assubversive and tenant as a victim. After that, the police and the watchman of themill workers carry an approach that will result in the death of one worker and thelookout itself, plus injuries to two policemen. The article analyzes how the delegateresponsible for the investigating will change its assessment of the conflict.
