Resumo: | In a context of changes in media settings, the ability to read, analyze and re-signify messages is essential for the conscious usage of media, which is related to media competence. In view of the importance of fostering media competence and the visible presence of Japanese pop culture in Brazil, this article aims to analyze the anime Serial Experiments Lain (1998) from the perspective of narrative complexity approached by Mittell (2012) and Johnson (2012), relating it to the development of media competence dimensions of language and aesthetic as proposed by Ferrés and Piscitelli (2015). |
