Resumo: The present article aims to interpret and analyze the Rede Globo TV series A grande família, with the purpose of investigating the format of the TV series studied, situation comedy or costumes comedy, and observe what are the views that the series build upon the familial and loving relations in the contemporary society through the fictional representation. The paper intent is to develop a study with aesthetic and communicational interest, and aspired to promote and expand the understanding of aspects upon an important moment of the Brazilian telefictional production, configured in A grande família.
