Resumo: This paper aims to analyze the dimensions of media competence present in the content published on Twitter by Harry Potter fans and/or J.K. Rowling fans. The tweets are part of the #RIPJKRowling indexing context, which emerged from the author's transphobic positions. It uses the dimensions of the theoretical-methodological proposal of Ferrés and Piscitelli (2015) on media competence and focuses on the dimensions Ideologies and values, Language and Aesthetics. It is concluded that the fans defend their positions in a non-critical way. It is also noticed that there is a mobility of defense of the Harry Potter saga based mainly on the nostalgia of the fans.

El trabajo parte de las dimensiones de la propuesta teórico-metodológica de Ferrés y Piscitelli (2015) sobre la competencia mediática y se centra en las dimensiones de Ideologías y valores, Lenguaje y Estética. Se concluye que los fans no defienden sus posiciones de forma crítica. Todavía se concluye que existe una movilidad en defensa de la saga de Harry Potter basada principalmente en la nostalgia de los fans.Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as dimensões da competência midiática presentes nos conteúdos publicados pelos fãs da saga Harry Potter e/ou da autora J.K. Rowling no Twitter. Os tweets integram o contexto da indexação #RIPJKRowling, que surgiu a partir de posicionamentos transfóbicos da autora. O estudo parte das dimensões da proposta teórico-metodológica de Ferrés e Piscitelli (2015) sobre a competência midiática e tem como foco as dimensões Ideologias e valores, Linguagem e Estética. Conclui-se que os fãs defendem seus posicionamentos de forma pouco crítica.
