Resumo: | Considering the centrality of the relations between communication, consumption and technology, this article examines certain digital devices that hybridize to the human body and that fall into the category of wearable technologies. As part of an ongoing research project, we discuss how the interweaving of various technological objects is reconfiguring everyday life and generating new possibilities for the materialities of communication and consumption. In this context we do not deal with a specific device. We seek to reflect broadly on different integrations between human and non-human, pondering what constitutes the field of wearable technologies and discussing how they now participate in the strategies between brands / companies and their consumers. |
