Centro de Ciências da Saúde. Fonoaudiologia.Introdução: O Implante Coclear (IC) é um dispositivo eletrônico que substitui parcialmente as células ciliadas da cóclea. No momento da cirurgia de IC é realizada a Telemetria de Resposta Neural (TRN) com um dos objetivos de registrar o potencial de ação composto evocado eletricamente. Durante o acompanhamento devem ser realizadas constantemente avaliações periódicas para analisar os efeitos do uso do IC no desenvolvimento das habilidades auditivas e linguísticas. Objetivo: Analisar as implicações da TRN nas habilidades auditivas e linguísticas em crianças implantadas no Hospital Universitário Polydoro Ernani de São Thiago da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (HU-UFSC). Metodologia: Foi realizado um estudo exploratório, observacional e longitudinal, sendo realizado no Laboratório de Estudos da Voz e Audição e no Serviço de Otorrinolaringologia e Cirurgia de Cabeça e Pescoço do HU-UFSC. Participaram todas as crianças implantadas do setor, que possuíam a mesma marca de IC, de ambos os gêneros, com idade de zero a doze anos na data da cirurgia, com perda auditiva pré-lingual e submetidas à cirurgia de IC no período de novembro de 2011 a outubro de 2012. Foram coletados dados da TRN no momento intra-operatório correlacionados com os testes auditivos e linguísticos, por meio dos sons de Ling (LING, 1976), ganho funcional, categorias auditivas (GEERS, 1994) e de linguagem (BEVILACQUA; DELGADO; MORET, 1996), além dos questionários IT- MAIS (CASTIQUINI, 1998) e MUSS (NASCIMENTO, 1997) realizados antes e após um ano de uso do IC. Resultados: A amostra foi composta por 11 sujeitos, com idade entre dois e dez anos na época da cirurgia, dos quais cinco são do gênero masculino e seis do feminino. A maior parte (90,90%) dos pacientes apresentou evolução nas habilidades auditivas e linguísticas. Foi possível observar que o paciente com menor nível de corrente apresentou a maior evolução linguística e auditiva, em paralelo o paciente que apresentou maior nível de corrente obteve resultados limitados nos testes de percepção de fala, no entanto esse padrão não te manteve. A média dos limiares da TRN foi de 193,98 UC, sendo menor nos eletrodos apicais (181,9 UC) e maior nos eletrodos basais (223 UC). O tempo de privação auditiva, tempo de uso do AASI e idade na época da cirurgia não influenciaram os limiares da TRN. Os pacientes que apresentaram maior evolução nas habilidades, também foram os que tiveram maior frequência na fonoterapia. Conclusão: Pode-se concluir que os limiares da TRN não foram fatores predominantes para evolução auditiva e linguística. Não houve um predomínio de maiores limiares na TRN em relação ao tempo de privação auditiva, tempo de uso do AASI e idade na época da cirurgia.A frequência na fonoterapia foi um dos fatores que mais influenciou a evolução auditiva e linguística.Introduction: The Cochlear Implant (CI) is an electronic device that partly replaces the cochlear hair cells. In the moment of the CI surgery is made the Neural Response Telemetry (NRT), one of the objectives is to register the Electrically Evoked Compound Action (ECAP). During the attendance must be constantly accomplished periodic evaluations to analyze the effects of the use of CI in the evolution of speech and hearing abilities. Objective: Analyze the implications of NRT on listening and linguistics abilities in implanted children at the Polydoro Ermani de São Thiago University Hospital from Santa Catarina Federal University (HU-UFSC). Methodology: Was performed an exploratory study, observational and longitudinal, being conducted at the Speech and Hearing Studies Lab (SHSL) and at the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery from HU-UFSC. The population of this was all the implanted children from the sector that had the same brand of CI in the sector, from both gender, with age from zero to ten years old at the date of the surgery, with pre-lingual hearing loss and submitted to CI surgery between November 2011 to November 2012. NRT data were collected at the intraoperative moment and correlated with the speech and hearing tests, using Ling-6 sound (LING, 1976), functional gains and hearing categories, (GEERS, 1994) and speech (BEVILACQUA; DELGADO; MORET, 1996), and the ITMAIS questionnaires (CASTIQUINI, 1998) and MUSS (NASCIMENTO, 1997). Results: 11 subjects composed the sample, with age from two to ten years old at the date of the surgery, which five were males and six females. Almost all of the patients (90,90%) showed an evolution at the speech and hearing skills. It was possible to observe that the patient with the lowest current level showed the biggest speech and hearing evolution, at the same time, the patient with the highest current level obtained limited results at the speech perceptions tests, but this measure did not maintained. The NRT average thresholds was 193,98 UC, being lower in the apical electrodes (181,9 UC) and bigger at the basal electrodes (223 UC). The time of hearing privation, time of Hearing Aid use and age at the surgery time did not influenced the NRT thresholds. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the NRT thresholds were not predominant factors to the speech and hearing evolution. There was not predominance of higher thresholds at NRT in relation with the hearing privation time, time of Hearing Aid use and age at the surgery time.
