Resumo: The present work has the main objective of developing the project of sustainable urban furniture for the Technology Square, in such a way that it could be attractive to a break, socialization and integration with the environment. This square is an idle place located in campus of Federal University of Santa Catarina – Trindade, and it was chosen as a case study stemming from the student demand for a green leisure and educational site. It used the Double Diamond methodology for the developing project and resorted to the sustainable principles presented on Environmental Education, the Right to the City and the design approaches with this focus. As a response for the many demands of the target audience and the current transient situation of the place, it was intended to make a urban furniture that could be versatile and also encourage the people to linger in the square.

La plaza en cuestión configura un espacio inactivo ubicado en el campus Trindade de la Universidad Federal de Santa Catarina y fue elegida como estudio de caso a partir de la reivindicación estudiantil de un área verde de esparcimiento y un espacio educativo. Para el desarrollo del proyecto se utilizó la metodología Doble Diamante y, como base teórica, se utilizaron los principios de la sustentabilidad a partir de los conceptos de Educación Ambiental, Derecho a la Ciudad y enfoques de diseño enfocados en esta temática. En respuesta a las diferentes demandas del público y la situación transitoria actual de la plaza, se buscó crear un mobiliario que propiciara la permanencia en el lugar y al mismo tiempo fuera versátilO presente trabalho tem por objetivo geral desenvolver um projeto de mobiliário urbano sustentável para uma praça que, seja atrativo para descanso, socialização e integração com o meio ambiente. A praça em questão configura um espaço ocioso localizado no campus Trindade da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina e foi escolhida como estudo de caso a partir da reivindicação estudantil por uma área verde de lazer e um espaço educativo. Para o desenvolvimento do projeto, foi utilizada a metodologia Duplo Diamante e, como fundamento teórico, recorreu-se aos princípios da sustentabilidade a partir das concepções da Educação Ambiental, do Direito à Cidade e das abordagens do design voltadas a este tema.
