Resumo: The relationships between nature, human biology, and the design of the built environment are articulated through the categorization of the 14 biophilic patterns, which are applied in indoor and outdoor environments. They can reduce stress, improve well-being, increase creativity, and direct the user’s attention and clarify of thoughts. Social, culture and economic factors cooperate in the implementation of biophilic projects, using tools aimed at the formulating bibliographic research. In this sense, the objective of the study is to review the concepts of the field of biophilia, defining the patterns that can be applied in the built environment, aiming to propose significant reflections regarding the possible contact of the user with biophilic patterns in affordable housing and design, particularizing in the field of Interior Design.
